As a degreed engineer, Sophisticated Closets CEO Mary Speckhart has always been fascinated by the mechanics behind everyday problems — for example, creating more accessible storage for her growing family.

Thanks to her background in the dry cleaning conveyor industry, Speckhart recognized the need for a motorized solution appropriate to the residential market — one that could “reclaim” previously unused or inaccessible space in almost every room in the house.

In 2004, Sophisticated Closets launched the RolloValet™, an easy-access motorized storage unit that revolutionized the storage of everyday items.
